One thing I hate to buy, but love to make are greeting cards!
Throughout the year, you will likely give out anywhere from 10 to 20 cards to friends and family for various occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, or simply to express gratitude. I find that creating the cards yourself adds a personal touch and sincerity for your recipients. On dreary, rainy days, I enjoy sitting down to make these cards myself. If you have little ones, they can join in on the fun, too! Handmade cards can be especially useful for all those little birthday parties!

What you’ll need:
- White or neutral card stock
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Note: card stock has more weight to it giving your card a nicer finish
- Scissors
- Q-tips
- Paint brushes
- Doubled sided tape
- Dimension stickers
- Markers
- Paint of choice
For this specific design, I used q-tips to make the confetti like dots, but of course you can get creative and do whatever the heart desires. Let your creativity run free, that’s what makes it fun!
The card pictured above can be made from a 5 x 7in piece of cardstock. For this specific layerd card I used white card stock as the base, brown construction paper for the design, and purple card stock for the message.
The fun thing about this type of card is that the message can be anything you want, like “Happy Birthday”, “Congratulations”, or “Thank you”, allowing for personalized and heartfelt expressions as the events pop up. Plus, the design is completely customizable; you can choose from a variety of elements such as playful hearts, twinkling stars, or a unique mix of both that reflects the occasion and the personality of the sender or the receiver. Whether it’s for a joyous celebration, an acknowledgment of achievements, or a simple gesture of gratitude, the options are endless, making it a creative outlet that can bring joy not just to the person receiving the card, but also to the one creating it!
